It Technician
CurrentResponsibilities:• To provide IT technical support in person and remotely to all areas of the business.• Providing support to remote workers.• Procuring, imaging, maintaining, and repairing mostly Dell laptops/desktops, communication, computer linked and network devices.• Troubleshooting problems with the UNMS and UniFi Wi-Fi networks.• Configuring and swapping out Ubiquiti Edge switches and adding new UniFi Wi-Fi access points using the UniFi controller.• Ensuring the upkeep of the business’ IT inventory/asset information.• Installing and configuring various software applications remotely using PDQ Deploy via the management server and in person.• Providing software support, including software critical to production.• Managing the Active Directory estate, creating new GPOs as well as maintaining already existing GPOs.• Managing Microsoft 365/Exchange.• Supporting Microsoft Office suites.• Managing and supporting the 8x8 VOIP system.• Resolving VPN issues.• Managing SharePoint, creating sites.• Maintaining helpdesk tickets by ensuring solutions, deciding what to prioritise considering the impact on the business, making notes of work undertaken to resolve the issue and closing tickets.• Reviewing costs incurred by services such as printers, mobiles and VOIP services. Analysing how the business utilises these, how they have been set up, streamline how they are been utilised and negotiating with suppliers to save the business money.• Restoring Veeam backups.• Preparing mobiles and tablets for deployment to end users, including off site users, using Maas360 MDM.• Managing starters and leavers.• Exposure to VMware, Veeam, Microsoft Deployment Toolkit, DHCP.• Dealing with suppliers of IT products and services.• Managing software licencing.• Assisting in the implementation of new project goals and updates to business core systems.• Managing the stock of all IT consumables. Managing deliveries, replacements and returns.• Office/desk moves.
