Passionate Linux/Unix Systems Administrator.Also well versed in Microsoft technologies although have not been active on them for a couple of years.Spent the last few years working with some great start-ups mostly using cloud computing like Linode, Rackspace and Amazon AWS.On the Amazon AWS, am well practiced in many of the services and API's they provide. Daily duties included monitoring of the Remedy ticketing system for tickets pertaining to alarms on systems in a global (WAN) capacity. Dedicated member of EA's FLS (Front Line Systems) Unix team of which there were 2 people for the Asia Pacific arm. NOTE:To enlighten, FLS was part of a “Follow the Sun” support strategy. This strategy was built on the the surmise that wherever the daylight was around the globe, that is where the support was operating from. The 3 regions involved were USA, UK and Australia.Responsible for the Asia Pacific (AP) shift of all Unix/Linux systems in the Online gaming environment. This envoironment consists of Pogo online gaming, pc and console (Xbox, 360,PS2 and PS3, Wii, PSP, etc) gaming backend and frontend systems. This environment contained approximately 2,000 Unix/Linux servers.Also responsible for the A/P shift of all corperate environment Unix/Linux systems. This environment included Oracle, TIBCO and other various ERP systems. This environment contained between 1,500-2,000 Unix/Linux servers.Unix/Linux operating systems include Redhat AS 2.1, AS and WS 4, Solaris and HPUX.Basic ITIL training has been completed wihle in this role.Member of weekend oncall roster. This roster cycled every 8 weeks where admins were required to be oncall to fix any global Unix/Linux systems outages/issues to keep the environment running at an optimum level.
