Part of Suncorp's Chief Risk Office, accountabilities include:- Lead oversight and assurance activities for Suncorp's ESG activities, including the implementation of UNEP FI principles on responsible banking, insurance and investment. This included sitting on ESG Leadership Committees, Responsible Investment Committees, Credit Committees and Asset & Liability Committees.- Lead Suncorp's Climate Change Risk and Opportunity streams of work, including scenario analysis of physical and transition risks that contributes to TCFD.- Develop a rolling 3-year sustainability strategy and program of work.- Lead oversight and assurance activities for Suncorp's reinsurance program and arrangements.- Provide specific Policy and Framework ownership for various risk management activities including: - Model Risk Management; - Stress Testing (including accountability for designing Suncorp's stress tests) ; - Intra-Group Exposures; - Aggregate Exposures; - Counterparty & Credit Risk Management.- Build and lead a high performing team accountable for the development and analysis of concentration risk exposures.- design and develop effective strategies to manage risk and implement practical changes

Perform a capital management and advisory function to Suncorp’s senior management and Board. This is facilitated either through direct discussions and presentations or management reporting and papers.Other regular key functions performed include:• Perform detailed analysis of banking, general insurance and life insurance capital and risk positions to accurately aggregate the Suncorp Group capital position on a regular basis.• Advise and assist with all capital flows across the Suncorp Group• Perform Regulatory reporting to APRA on behalf of Suncorp Group Limited• Facilitation and coordination of the Suncorp Group dividend payment and other capital instruments listed on the ASX• Management of the ~$1bn Suncorp Group Limited investment portfolio on behalf of the Group. This includes forecasting of investment returns and sensitivities based on market assumptions, performing high level compliance reviews against mandate and coordinating transactional SGL cash management requests to the investment managers• Coordinate and contribute to the Suncorp Group’s Capital Community responses to large scale Group-wide initiatives such as; the annual budgeting and planning process, the semi-annual market announcements and the annual shareholder review• Managing the Suncorp Group’s responses to Regulators regarding capital consultation pieces e.g. Basel III and LAGIC• Contribute to the production and annual review of the Suncorp Group ICAAP and associate capital plans• Write, review and maintain Suncorp Group Board Policies owned by the Chief Investment Officer pertaining to capital, financial control and investment restrictions• Consultation and participation in large scale corporate projects including acquisition and disposal of assets and corporate reorganization e.g. implementation of the NOHC and other licence rationalization initiatives.

At the time this was the largest financial services merger in the Southern Hemisphere (pre-GFC). Main aspects of the role included:Identification and Verification of Integration synergy benefits across portfolios including Banking, Wealth Management and Strategy, People & Corporate Services. (Over 600 initiatives being run simultaneously)Project management including project accounting and reporting to Group Finance function and Project Management Office. Maintaining key relationships with senior executives whilst performing a finance advisory function to the various projects teams where required to ensure due diligence was performed and synergy benefits were able to be proven.Performing modelling and analysis to verifiy initiatives as well as auditing existing models.
