Diligent and passionate Botany Alumnus from Cal Poly Humboldt who just completed their degree in Fall 2023. I am committed to advancing my knowledge in Botany, and am particularly interested in field work, plant tissue culture, mycology, and plant taxonomy. In my role as a Field Technician with the Cal Poly Humboldt Wildlife Department, I played a pivotal role in a comprehensive study evaluating the aftermath of the 2021 Dixie fire. This involved the setup, monitoring, and removal of over 200 trail camera stations, coupled with meticulous vegetation surveys. Navigating challenging terrains and collaborating seamlessly with diverse teams, including the National Forest Service and fellow field technicians, underscored my adaptability and effective communication skills.Beyond fieldwork, I actively contributed to the academic community as an Office Team Member and General Botany Supplemental Instruction Leader at the Cal Poly Humboldt Learning Center. By facilitating General Botany classes and review sessions, I created an inclusive and conducive learning environment, and even took part in several equity projects to improve my work. Collaborating with professors, I crafted helpful study materials to meet the unique needs of students. I also assisted with various projects, interviews, observations, and mentored other leaders through my leadership position on the office team. My dedication extends to community service, where I engage in volunteer work such as invasive plant removal and trail stewardship with organizations like California State Parks and the Humboldt Trails Council.
