About Andrew Young

I am a strategic, creative thinker who loves to create structures to bring order to chaos. My passion is disruptive ideas and the companies that are founded on them. As our communal pace of change increases, we’re able to take less and less for granted, and I strive to cultivate the intellectual and professional tools to thrive in this ever-evolving environment.My professional experience is client relationship management in a SaaS environment and strategic consulting. I take an incredibly customer-focused approach to my work because I take pride in providing consistently excellent service. This attention to detail and quality, combined with a holistic, organization-level approach, means when I work with a client I am normally able to find a mutually beneficial solution. As a leader, I am able to competently provide direction to anything from a sales team to a political campaign.Community engagement is an important part of my story. I have been lucky enough to give back in the political field, working to improve my city, my province, and my country. I have also done graduate work in two languages focusing on ideology, narratives, and story structure. I am an expert communicator, both as a writer and in person. I have proven that I am capable of operating in three fields – academia, business, and politics – where I have worked with and learned from exceptionally talented people. I have enjoyed success in each area and have also learned immensely from challenges along the way.

    During the Toronto municipal election, I held final responsibility for this entire municipal campaign. This included final responsibility for fundraising and all levels of donor relationship management as well as final authority over communications and press releases regularly featured in most major newspapers. I managed a core team of ten, with an additional rotation of about thirty volunteers. Overall, we drafted policy and recommendations for managing the billion dollar budget of the city of Toronto.Key Accomplishments:We raised a historic amount of donations with over double our spending limit from more than twice as many donors as any single campaign from 2010 making us among the most successful fundraising campaigns in Toronto history.We secured formal endorsements from former MP Omar Alghabra, the Toronto Labour Council, the Toronto Star, NOW, Torontoist, and several sitting councillors.
