Responsible for running assays in all departments of the medical laboratory including blood bank, chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, and microbiology. Experience leading co-workers in new methods and procedures that have been put into place. Provide support to doctors, nurses, and unit secretaries when called, supplying results or resolving order issues as requested. Selected to serve on both the Sky Ridge Employee Advisory Group and the laboratory Unit Based Council. Proficient in Meditech laboratory module.Have worked with: Beckman Coulter LH 750, LH 500, DxH 800, Stago Compact, Siemens BCS, BCSxp, Dimension RxL Max with Streamlab, Dimension ExL, Siemens 865 and 405 Blood Gas Instruments, Ortho Vitros 5600, iSTATs, Siemens AUWi, IRIS Aution Max and iQ 200, Immucor Echo, Vitek 2, BD Bactec FX, and BacTAlert.

This was a job I held while completing my clinical training at St. Francis. I was able to directly interact with patients and gain a more candid perspective of the laboratory rather than the training perspective I was getting through school.
