County Compliance Officer, Purchasing Office
Directly assisting with the creation of the Travis County Contract Compliance Department in the Purchasing Office. Writing and formulating the policy of a robust Contract Compliance Department. Our goal is not to do the bare minimum the law requires, but to use out position to uplift workers and contractors on Travis County contracts, while increasing value to all stakeholders in the County. Collaborates with other attorneys and officers to design and implement the new Better Builder program and related projects.Conducts legal research to advise contract compliance officials on statutory construction and program creation.Researches best practices of compliance programs across the country to develop compliance IPP including: • Microsoft SharePoint compliance issue reporting tool that automates communication between necessary parties • Contract compliance issue documentation and remediation procedures designed to lower riskAnalyzes contracts and compliance documents to identify, categorize, and remedy problems with contractors.Works with County departments to streamline procurement and contract compliance and administration.Serves as a member of Travis County Legislative Action Work Group, tracking public procurement-related legislation during the Texas legislative session.Proficient in Kobo Toolbox an open source, data collection and analysis tool. OSHA 30 Certified. Workers Defense Project: Better Builder Project Certified On-Site Monitor.
