Genly is a digital performance advertising platform with the goal of automating demand generation. It was born out of Precise Online, an advertising agency. The agency developed a deep knowledge of digital marketing, and proven processes of lead generation. This knowledge was distilled in the platform. - Built first version of the platform, including a VueJS UI, RESTful API, and back-end services. - Hosted on AWS using serverless products. Created a secure environment with a small surface attack area. - Architected Genly as an event-driven, distributed system that's highly scalable and expandable. - Hired and managed two teams of developers: an overseas consulting team for the front end, and a local team for the back end. Used both Kanban and Scrum Agile frameworks. - Mentored development team, including growing two interns into senior engineers. - Optimized infrastructure costs, brought platform and processes to be SOC2 compliant, and maintained feature delivery predictability.

Services provided by the company span the lifecycle involved in conceptualizing, creating, and monetizing content. - Was one of 3 Team Leads as part of the company’s transition to the Scrum Agile process. Organized new members into a cohesive team. Mentored team on Agile best practices. - Designed a plan to incrementally get from existing legacy WebForms system to a new architecture using OData v4 APIs, an MVC template rendering engine, and a UI comprised of Bootstrap 3 and JavaScript. - Architected and developed an ETL solution to allow clients a way to import their data initially or on a recurring basis into the StarCm. The service dynamically read the fields available from StarCm due to huge number of available fields and unique customization capabilities of the platform. - Implemented full-text searching capabilities in the StarCm advanced search using MS SQL Server full-text engine. - Designed a claims-based granular authorization model to be used in all modules. - Created a federated authentication framework to support clients’ preferred SSO systems.

Docstoc (startup acquired by Intuit) was the premier online destination for resources to start and grow your small business. The main property, www.docstoc.com, had over 5 million registered members, 40 million documents and resources, and over 8 million unique visitors daily. First employee. - Scaled a beta site to millions of users a day and set up initial hardware and infrastructure. - www.docstoc.com - Designed and implemented the ads templating infrastructure, the content management system, and the white labeling of the shopping cart. Architected and implemented the document upload pipeline. - File Transformation Services - Highly scalable, highly redundant system for transforming files uploaded by the Docstoc community. The system accepted Microsoft Office formatted files along with RTF, TXT, HTML and PDF formats and output a custom file format based on SWF which was used to show previews of the files to visitors of Docstoc. Later, images were also generated to switch from Flash viewer to an image-based one. The system also provided users with the ability to download any PDF as a Microsoft Word document for easy editing. This array of services handled over 2500 document conversions per hour. - Services Manager - a map and management tool of all the existing services running at Docstoc. This used a custom protocol which included patterns for exposing statistics, full control over the services such as starting, stopping, and pausing, and a centralized configuration framework. - License123.com - a repository of licenses and permits required by federal, state and local governments. Users would pick their business type and the site would allow the download of all necessary licenses. Architected and developed the first version of www.license123.com back end and admin interface.

Synthean is a business intelligence tool that provided an overall view of corporate transactions across multiple computer systems. - Data Provider Server - essentially an RPC API built using C#, .Net Framework 2.0, and .NET Remoting. Architected to support hundreds of concurrent users by utilizing .NET Remoting’s inherent multi-threaded nature. - Business Activity Architect - Synthean administration UI for configuring business activities, such as an order process, by adding checkpoints which represented milestones in the process. - WIMO (Where Is My Order) - a client-side web-based application written in ASP.NET, C#, .NET Framework 2.0, Ajax, and Web Services. This was designed to focus the system scope to just a company’s order process. - Synthean Console - a client-side web-based application which allowed a generic view of the data being collected by the system.
