OBE Organic is an Australian owned, family business, established in 1996. It produces certified organic halal grassfed beef for export all over the world. OBE Organic is Australia’s first organic beef marketing company, and maintains a reputation as one of Australia’s most agile and innovative red meat companies. Seconded to Santiago, Chile from August 2012 to October 2013Achievements while in Santiago:Managed the implementation of a project management reporting system on an EPCM (engineering, procurement and construction management) large copper mining project Ensured that management and client reports relating to project schedule and cost are generated from the reporting system. Co-ordinated customisation of system-generated reports to ensure acceptance by project management and the client.Worked with users across each project delivery function (various engineering disciplines, procurement, construction) to train and support them in the use of the reporting system. Trained the project procurement team (approximately 20 users) in the use of the system, and trained approximately 100 other users from other project delivery functionsWorked with project users and system developers to specify and implement project-specific customisations to the system and the system reports.Learnt Spanish to the necessary level to communicate effectively with members of the project team. Having a basic ability in Spanish allowed me to identify and form relationships with key internal stakeholders in the different project disciplines.

Key achievements: Analysed payload data from Thiess’ dump truck fleet and demonstrated that improving payload management would reduce the number of loads required to transport a given amount of material, resulting in a reduced number of truck cycles and hence the consumption of less diesel.Compiled and published Mining Benchmarking Reports every three months on a broad spectrum of mining key performance indicators, bringing together data from various internal data-bases and external sources, covering approximately 12 mining operations in Australia and Indonesia. Managed analytical aspects of a contract with a major provider, acting as a central resource for managing contractual commercial issues, liaised with personal on nine mining operations in Australia to achieve sustained compliance with contractual obligations. Collected and analysed various economic indices to support preparation of forecasted spends.Led a Research & Development project, involving personnel from a mine, an external technology provider and research staff at the University of Queensland which delivered real-time diagnostics.Developed monthly reports on utilisation of mining vehicles, allowing management to redeploy under-utilised vehicles to other operations, thus saving the costs of purchasing additional mining vehicles.

Key achievements:Analysed the financial impact of changes to Motor Insurance products and produced of reports which communicated these impacts to key internal stakeholders. Part of a team responsible for the development and launch of new motor insurance products.Monitored the impact of discounting campaigns and other initiatives. Also, verified that any change to the premium calculation algorithm had the desired effect.
