I don't tend my Linkedin page very often! Not my strong suit- so If I don't respond quickly or at all it is because I am tending other fires. But, I am always looking to build bridges and reconnect with old colleagues, make new contacts and hear new ideas. Emailing or calling is sometimes a better way to reach me. Having started in the field as a teenager, I have 40 years of experience with researching, marketing, and understanding the world of art and antiques. I am a very seasoned generalist, with a working knowledge in many categories, and deeper experience with American furniture and folk art. I am currently president of Brunk Auctions and have worked to build this family business since 2005, when I moved back to Asheville from New York, where I was head of the American Furniture Department at Christie’s, from 2000-2005. I worked twice at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, first a curatorial intern, and then, after receiving my Master's degree from Winterthur, again as an assistant curator working with early Philadelphia art and objects for the Worldly Goods exhibition. I continue to make seasonal appearances on Antiques Roadshow, as I have every year since 2001. I have published articles on furniture and painting topics, including in Chipstone's American Furniture journal. Since leaving the museum field and my post at Christie's, I have enjoyed expanding my skills as a generalist and learning other categories, including American and European paintings, Chinese works of art, Modern art and design, and other fields.
