As a managing partner at ACT of Communication, I lead a team of trial consultants who help lawyers and witnesses communicate effectively, persuasively, and confidently in the courtroom. We offer a range of services, including witness preparation, attorney skills training, litigation consulting, courtroom skills instruction, case narrative development, and CLE courses. We have been in the business for over 40 years, and our founders, Katherine James and Alan Blumenfeld, are recognized as the pioneers of modern witness preparation techniques and courtroom performance.My background in both law and the arts gives me a unique perspective and skill set as a trial consultant. I have been a professional actor for over 36 years, appearing in television, film, and stage productions, such as The West Wing, Dexter, Days of Our Lives, and NCIS. I also became a lawyer in under two years while working in Hollywood, and I am a national board member of SAG-AFTRA, the union for actors and performers. I use the tools and techniques of the actor to help my clients convey their message, connect with their audience, and overcome their fears and challenges in the courtroom. I also enjoy playing a mock trial guru for law schools and undergraduate institutions when time permits. My mission is to combine law, art, and communication for effective trial performance.
