I drove EU and global campaigns that doubled earned media, contributing to 75% of PMI’s global coverage, and received PMI’s President's Award for advancing regulatory clarity on reduced-harm products.

I led the Policy, Government Affairs, and Media teams, significantly raising the organization’s profile and influence across the UK. Public Affairs News described me as “an assured media performer” who increased the FSB’s visibility through frequent TV news appearances while effectively advocating in Westminster and Whitehall. I led policy initiatives like Entrepreneurs' Relief, cuts in National Insurance Contributions, and the Enterprise Finance Guarantee, which directed £3.3bn in loans to tens of thousands of SMEs. I also represented the FSB across national media and provided expert evidence to Parliamentary Committees on critical issues such as banking reform and support for entrepreneurs.

I launched the FSB’s Small Business Index, which has become a key economic indicator, and advised the Business Secretary on banking reform. I led the "Keep Trade Local" campaign, achieving major policy wins, including lifting 345,000 SMEs out of business rates and driving public procurement reform, and launched the ‘Post Bank’ coalition to support community finance. I worked with senior officials in Treasury, BIS and Cabinet Office to establish the Small Business Credit Adjudicator and the Bank Mediation Service.

I established the Federation of Small Businesses' (FSB) Brussels office, quickly building its reputation for direct communication and effective advocacy. I led successful campaigns, including persuading the European Parliament to reject a costly Commission proposal without amendment—only the second time in its history—and securing the adoption of the Services Directive, collaborating closely with MEPs and Commissioners to counter significant opposition, earning public recognition in plenary speeches for our efforts.

I was an assistant to the vice chairman of the Constitutional Affairs Committee during the drafting of the Treaty establishing a Constitution for Europe, the Charter of Fundamental Rights, and pre-EU Accession negotiations with countries of Central & Eastern Europe. During this time I also worked with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office to organise a series of meetings and events to strengthen relations between the EU and Ukraine. I split my time between working in Brussels and Warsaw.
