I am a dedicated fundraiser, relationship-builder, and program manager uses my expertise to help vulnerable people and populations. I learned early on that I need to work for organizations with a strong mission. When I started my internship at Habitat for Humanity in my hometown of South Bend, IN, I was immediately hooked. I started out corralling volunteers on the construction site and taking pictures for social media. My responsibilities quickly grew as I found opportunities to help in our Homeownership Program Department. This department works with the families and individuals we serve through affordable housing. I would manage the extensive 12-18 month program these families would go through. This included: marketing the program in the community, running informational meetings all throughout the community, processing hundreds of mortgage applications, reviewing credit reports, working with the Board of Directors to approve qualified candidates, meeting with future homeowners every month, organizing and running financial and homeowner education classes, closing mortgages, and more! Basically, I would do anything that was needed to achieve the mission. I had a trial by fire when it came to project management. At the age of 22, I learned that our local Habitat office would be running the Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Work Project, the largest project that Habitat for Humanity puts on in the entire world. Not only that, but I was in charge of quadrupling the number of families we serve in order to fit the needs of this project. Not only was this project successful, but President Jimmy Carter even said that is was "maybe the best one we've ever had, and we've had some good ones!" After this amazing experience, I felt the need to keep growing professionally. I took a year off of work and earned my Master of Nonprofit Administration from Notre Dame. I found a new home in Atlanta, GA working at Habitat for Humanity International. There, I have served in multiple fund development roles, currently serving as an Associate Development officer, focusing on individual donors in the Midwest. As I grow my career, I search for opportunities to help mission-driven organizations in project management and fundraising. Outside of work, I play bass and sing in a rock band, and spent time with my wife and our dog.
