With a diverse background in the built and natural environment through design, architecture, and development - as well as sustainability and wellbeing – my focus and work is on what makes for thriving people, environments, and organisations. Underpinned with a deep interest in psychological strengths, human behaviour - and the values that drive it – I have researched and developed a (soon to be released) - values discovery and alignment tool (decodeu.com), to help individuals, organisations and communities discover, understand, and live their values, as well as understand the alignment (or misalignment) between them.I believe that when we understand our values, authentically align with them and live purposeful lives - we can effectively tackle the challenges that are placed before us. From addressing unsustainability and global warming, to improving the affordability of housing in our cities and lifting levels of human and planetary wellbeing and more - our values can help us move towards that which matters most to us.This connection between sustainability, wellbeing and the importance of our behaviour was articulated beautifully by David Suzuki where he noted that - ‘Our issue isn’t just one of economic, social and ecological concerns as in sustainability – rather it is psychological. We need to start with our values and beliefs - as the way we see the world defines how we treat the world and nature in general’.
