About Andrew Cole, Cissp, Pmp, Itil

Hello, I’m Andrew Cole, a certified cybersecurity leader passionate about driving business success.Growing up, my father was in the Navy. That gave me a love of traveling and a strong desire to serve my country. After college, I fulfilled a long-term goal and was commissioned into the United States Marine Corps. My specialty in the Marines was IT / Cybersecurity leadership, and I was in charge of 43 IT Marines. The Marines also gave me a solid understanding of the proper function of both IT and Cybersecurity. It is critical that they are done well, but in the end, the business needs to function. It also taught me how to “translate” between technical and non-technical teams.A leader who brings value:Beyond technical expertise, I bring extensive leadership experience, gained as a Captain in the Marine Corps and Army and honed across diverse industries. I excel at bridging the gap between cybersecurity/IT and business goals, effectively communicating with both technical and non-technical audiences. My guiding principles:Dynamic Leadership: I believe that effective leadership involves understanding individual motivations and tailoring approaches accordingly. My goal is to empower teams, not just manage them, to achieve success and contribute to organizational growth.Business-Focused: Cybersecurity and IT are pillars supporting the business, not standalone entities. When joining a team, I prioritize understanding their business needs and aligning our efforts accordingly.Continuous Improvement: I am a firm believer in continuous learning and improvement, both personally and professionally. In this rapidly evolving landscape, ongoing evaluation and adaptation are crucial for success.Strategic and Operational Mindset: My approach balances addressing immediate tasks with long-term strategic thinking. I consider the potential consequences of decisions to ensure they contribute to sustainable and impactful change.Ready to collaborate?Do you share the goal of driving business value, mitigating risks, and fostering a progressive environment?
