In this role I am leading Business Analytics and Cloud Data Warehousing projects. My scope is relatively technical helping to design and implement solutions using lead edge technologies. Recently, I have spent a lot of time understanding and implementing the full suite of tools in the Informatica IPass solution using Data Integration, B2B Integration and binding them all together constructing codeless API's. The other part of my role is Cognos Analytics Technical Lead. This involves presenting both internally and externally the latest features of the product, understanding the best use cases for all the elements to the tools and helping our clients get the best value out of their investment. I also liaise regularly with colleagues in IBM especially product management to further develop the direction of the software.

The BICC Team have delivered the first two instances of our Global Business Intelligence Platform which include all the major Business modules. I have been heavily involved in all aspects of the design, development, testing and release management of the BI elements. During this time we have been spending a lot of time and energy on incorporating Dynamic Cube solutions in order to maximise the performance of the BI tools for reporting which has brought some outstanding results. Most recently, we are utilising the IBM Cognos Mobile application delivering multi-tabular dashboards to each and every Territory Sales Manager globally. This is an absolute leap forward for us to provide on device, up to date, clear and concise information that is relevant to that particular person in their chosen format. In terms of TM1, I have taken ownership of a See Through Gross Profit application which I am slowly working through and adopting a consistent approach to coding standards, performance, application of business rules and especially documenting the application. We have put a lot of time into ensuring that reliability of the application improves further and also upgraded to the very latest on premise release of TM1.The TM1 application has seen a number of major and minor enhancements as required which have been delivered. We are working on lots of initiatives to make the Group Finance functions within the TM1 application as straightforward as possible.Going forward, as part of the Group BI Strategy Team I am looking at our possibilities of integrating unstructured data, semi-structured data, machine data and imagery into our systems using Hadoop and associated technologies. This is part of a research initiative that I am working on and using my development time accordingly. We are also embarking on Cognos Analytics familiarisation with a view to upgrading in early 2018.

In this role I took the responsibility of running the entire services operation within Aramar. During this short engagement I have implemented a small number of subtle changes with regards to training, development and future service operation progression.

Aramar are leading UK Partner for Cognos Controller, FAP, FSR and TM1 services. My role is to provide consulting services to our customers covering Business Intelligence and Technical Services. I also provide a wide range of services from System Design, scalability and reliability testing to Project Management and providing Technical Lead services outside the IBM Cognos arena if required.

Developed our helpdesk and other customer services functions into the current model growing the business revenues year on year. Our helpdesk and associated support services are very well received by clients and our diverse offerings are the best in the marketplace. I left in April 2011 with the job complete and ready for the next challenge.

Providing consulting services on the complete range of IBM Cognos tools from Series7 through ReportNet and Cognos8 BI. Built Data Management applications using ETL tools such as DTS, SSIS, IBM InfoSphere CDC and Cognos8 Data Manager.

Worked with Lynx on Motor Dealer management software for major Motor Manufacturers like Citroen, Peugeot and Vauxhall. Started as a Developer working on existing development in Professional Basic followed by further development in Progress 4GL developing a brand new system for Car Supermarkets. Managed the project to implement the first Car Supermarket system before deciding to move on in 1998.
