About Andrew Stern

I am on a mission to bring digital security to the physical world. At DUST Identity, I work with world class companies and individuals to provide assurance to visually indistinguishable objects, removing counterfeit risk from critical supply chains. As the CEO of Revive Labs, we enable key backup and recovery for digital keys to protect enterprises and individuals. With a highly technical background I have expertise in hardware-based cybersecurity, zero-trust security, supply chain security, and advanced hardware attack and defense mechanisms (leveraging non-contact electromagnetic radiation and lasers).I am working to create innovative solutions to some of the world's leading cybersecurity threats. I excelled in academics and have been published in major semiconductor conferences and journals. Previously, I graduated from the University of Rochester majoring in Electrical and Computer Engineering with a minor in Business. During my undergraduate career I conducted research at the Laboratory for Laser Energetics focusing on self-switching devices.

  • University Of Rochester Laboratory For Laser Energetics
    Undergraduate Researcher
University Of Rochester Laboratory For Laser Energetics Feb 2014 - May 2016
    Rochester, Ny, Us
Summer 2015:As a recipient of a Discover Grant, I was able to conduct research full time under Dr. Roman Sobolewski, Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and of Physics, also a Senior Scientist in the Laboratory for Laser Energetics. I worked alongside a Ph.D. student conducting photoresponse experiments on self-switching devices (SSDs). We tested SSDs on a variety of materials including InAs, InGaAs and GaAs. SSDs are believed to have applications in single photon detection although, depending on channel characteristics, they currently suffer from large dark currents. Spring and Fall 2014:My research was conducted for 2 credit hours per semester. Titled "Femtosecond Photoresponse", my research involved experimental, time-resolved photoresponse studies of nonequilibrium carrier dynamics in semiconductiong mesostructures, as well as data analysis and simulations. Readings and presentations accompanied research.
