I am researching the additive manufacturing of composite materials. Specifically, adjusting process variables in a stereolithographic (SLA) 3D printing process to align short-fiber composite fillers within the resin matrix. Intended to impart some degree of planar alignment to the reinforcement, this research will allow an increased understanding of the ability to create anisotropic materials using unmodified, existing hardware.
