If you can work closely with your mentor, do it. There is nothing like it. For 2+ years I was Michael's right-hand "idea guy." That involved all kinds of projects - from selling and marketing his books, conceiving and writing articles, planning and executing events, serving as project manager on video projects, designing and upstarting his podcast, and many other activities around refining and amplifying Michael's voice in the wider startup ecosystem and venture capital industry.
