His focus is on supporting the fire management planning needs of the field, including Spatial Fire Planning, Wildland Fire Decision Support System, the National Fire Danger Rating System, and NEPA.Andrew previously served as Technical Lead for the Wildland Fire Data Management Program, Data Manager for the Wildland Fire Management Research, Development & Analysis program (WFM RD&A), GIS Coordination Forester for the North Carolina Forest Service, worked in fuels and fire research and planning with Alion Science and Technology, developed landscape and habitat models with the Southeast Gap Analysis Project, and worked as a laboratory and field technician with the USDA Forest Service Southern Research Station.  He has a Master of Science degree in Forestry and a Bachelors of Science degree in Forest Management with a minor in computer science from North Carolina State University. When he's not fighting forest fires or moving bytes, Andrew enjoys photography, running, mountain biking, and home brewing.
