With over 10 years of experience in the biotechnology industry, I am a scientifically published professional and a lifelong learner. I specialize in Regulatory Affairs and Quality Management while leading a team of talented and experienced Analytic Chemists to produce high quality data as a top priority for our valuable clients.After earning my Bachelor of Science in 2011 from the University of Wisconsin in La Crosse, I began working for Covance (now Eurofins) as a Nutritional Chemist. Following a couple of successful and enjoyable years working at the laboratory bench, I found myself with a growing thirst for more challenges. My passions swiftly led me to decide to pursue a master’s degree in Biotechnology in an effort to gain a deeper understanding of all of the critical specialties that are required at a successful biotechnology organization. Further, this academic opportunity allowed me to stay employed full time while also attending classes full time. Shortly after my acceptance into the master’s degree program, I applied for and accepted a new position at Covance in Metabolism where I qualified radio-labeled Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) via HPLC for in vivo ADME studies. Upon completion of my master’s degree, I was introduced to the co-owner and CEO of Complete Phytochemical Solutions LLC (CPS) where new, intriguing challenges were beginning to unfold.CPS was a business without any full-time employees, SOPs, formal documents, or extensive customer base. In the time since I was hired on in 2015, I oversaw the acquisition and installation of state-of-the-art laboratory instrumentation, the screening, interviewing, and hiring of experienced chemists, and the forging of an ever-expanding customer base. From the ground up, I have authored our Quality Manual and dozens of SOPs, developed Project Management systems for the tracking, reviewing, and reporting of client data while strictly adhering to ISO 17025:2017 standards. Beyond inside operations, and again drawing from my master’s degree training, I played integral roles in the development and authorship of grants, scientific publications, and award winning business plans.Currently, I spend much of my time engineering and updating our Quality Manual System for a highly anticipated ISO 17025:2017 audit for official accreditation. Other times are spent discussing analytical results as an adviser and consultant to my clients, training new professionals, reviewing data, validating processes, or preparing the facility and the QMS for 3rd party audits.
