I‘ve worked with cannabis and hemp for 40 years, and I’m considered one of the pioneers of legal cannabis in California and the United States. I was a co-founder and an executive and director of Harborside Health Center for 14 years (now Statehouse). I am an expert in building cannabis retail organizations and supply chains, public policy, advocacy, and social justice. It was my job to oversees all retail locations, the supply chain, hiring/firing of team members, maintaining and strengthening company culture, and moving the organization from 2 retail locations to a vertically integrated company with a large farm in Monterey County, Ca and 4 retail locations. I also helped Harborside navigate two legal cases against the Federal Government in a way that has allowed the business to remain open, grow, and serve the community. Harborside beat the Feds on the Forfeiture action but our 280e case is on appeal at the 9th Circuit in California.
