Responsible for all competencies, compliance and mentoring activities for the technical business ensuring all installers are suitably qualified and upskilled. I manage a team responsible for the onboarding processes, which encompasses a range of routes into the business from qualified meter installers to new entrants. I also have 60 under 19 Trailblazer apprentices reporting directly to me and have managed all stages of their development and mentoring on their journey to become dual fuel Smart Metering installers.This position initially held responsibility for the mobilisation of a major Smart Metering contract with one of the Big 6, with a particular focus on SMICoP and NSAP compliance and the alignment of policies and procedures to ensure business readiness for the Smart Metering rollout.

Southern England

This position was pivotal in the expansion of the company's technical business starting with 40 installers and reaching in excess of 350. This expansion started with 2 District Technical Managers, rising to 10, with numerous restructures to reflect the growing business demands. I was also responsible for and managed a team of 12 national Technical & Quality Engineers who conducted work in progress and post installation audits to ensure compliance and quality standards were met and maintained. I helped to develop the auditing regime and introduced a risk-based approach to allocate resources more effectively. I was heavily involved with the onboarding process with a significant program around the upskilling of metering representatives to become meter installers, liaising with our training providers to create centres with bespoke programs. This ensured the effective development of training packages to meet both legacy and Smart Metering requirements.

Southern England

Responsible for the South and South-West metering operations with 8 District Team Managers and 2 Trainers with up to 400 metering representatives. Ensured contractual compliance and performance across multiple contracts covering all aspects of metering activities. Responsible for all aspects of holiday and absence management, capability and disciplinary issues, vehicles and assets etc.

Eastern England And Scotland

Managed 2 operational areas in both the East of the country and in Scotland reporting to the Regional Operations Manager, with 18 Team Managers, 4 Trainers and circa 600 metering representatives. Assisted the areas to transform to a new management structure while maintaining and improving performance and productivity. Responsible for setting KPIs and ensuring each team achieved required results across a range of contracts and metering activities.

South West

Managed a team of 50 metering representatives with an Assistant Team Manager and a Training Manager. Responsible for the South-West to ensure contractual obligations were met and exceeded. Extremely busy environment covering all aspects of metering activity support. Responsible for data collection contracts with significant warrant activity, decommissioning and recommissioning, battery exchanges etc.

South West

Managed a team of 25 metering representatives across the South-West, responsible for their day-to-day welfare and activities to ensure contractual compliance across a number of national contracts. Managed all aspects of holiday and sickness absence, preparing disciplinary and capability paperwork, record keeping, monitoring hours worked and ensuring targets were met and exceeded.
