My role is to lead the team in all aspects of the fire & security industry, which tends to identify elements such as installation, maintenance etc. I see this all as customer service.No matter who, or how big; each customer deserves to smile at every stage whilst working with us at Detect Ltd and we seek to deliver a warm, friendly service that is a positively memorable experience for our customers.Ranging from national companies, councils, hospitals to chemical plants, waste plants, schools, factories and shops we offer a versatile and competent service delivered by a loyal and happy team.Maintaining a positive outlook that transfers through our team into the premises and experiences of our customers is my primary role. Success comes from the dedication of each team member upholding the values and vision that resonate within our team.Technical training, our ISO9000 system, affiliations with our expert partners, suppliers and certification bodies all helps us to learn how to apply and improve our skills competently and meet the overall satisfaction of our customers. By seeking the utmost satisfaction we enjoy great relations with our customers and benefit from their recommendations and referrals.Amongst the overall responsibilities are accounts, compliance, KPI's, meetings, stock, recruitment, cash flow, training etc. - All of which are the symptoms of getting customer service right, whilst creating a fertile and fun environment for our team to work, grow and be part of something greater than just a job.

Working up from Branch Manger I went on to manage a region of five branches, develop core operating/reporting systems and grow overall turnover and profit within my region. Coaching and leadership training within the wider Rentokil group was part of my role.The needs of a national business with an international parent group differ wildly from my natural style building, motivating teams, delivering high quality and representing good value which can be achieved within a strong branch as I had for many years with great success.Improving profits to appease shareholder expectation just by increasing invoice values and then reducing service doesn't really sit with me. Value gets lost in the equation. Somewhere along the way the people at the ends of the spectrum get forgotten i.e. the customer and the coal-face employee. An internal group merger and a new boss stimulated me to evaluate my career and began the green shoots of Detect Fire & Security Ltd.
