My name is Andrew Dilts and I am going into my last year at Ohio University. I am currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, and Business Pre-Law. I have recently added Finance due to the credit hour requirement to sit for the CPA exam. This will help round out my knowledge of business activities that fall within the Finance and Accounting departments of many companies. I am seeking to improve my skills in accounting in the business world because I believe that accounting procedures are very important and the core of any business. Coming to Ohio University I was not sure what I wanted to major in. Just after winter break of my first year, a speaker and CPA that came to my school said, “Marketing and finance majors cannot do what accounting majors can do, but accounting majors can do whatever marketing and finance majors can do.” That comment significantly peaked my interest in the accounting profession and since that day I have taken great interest in my accounting classes and declared my major in Accounting. I am currently working with data visualization tools in and out of class and that I am excited to put to use in actual business.
