Being part of the Q Psychology team was a highlight of my Melbourne experience. As a leading Melbourne private psychology practice for the LGBTQIAP+ community, I valued working with specialist clinicians and providing specialist interventions for LGBTQIAP+ clients. During this time, my understanding of the needs of LGBTQIAP+ people expanded particularly intersectional experiences such as trauma, neurodiversity, homelessness, and financial distress. During this time, I valued access to specialist supervision in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), an approach that aims to assist clients in accepting what they cannot control and maximising their potential to live a meaningful life. Research demonstrates that this approach is very effective for a broad range of presentations and particularly helpful for clients who did not experience expected outcomes utilising other treatments.My key responsibilities:-Provision of in-person and telehealth therapy appointments,-Psychotherapy treatments for a diverse range of presentations, including stress, worry and anxiety, mood management and depression, adjustment difficulties, motivation, focus and concentration difficulties, health and disability, relationship difficulties and interpersonal conflict, trauma, grief and loss,-Collegiate supervision and group supervision support.

I valued my role at ECU Student Counselling Service, supporting students to succeed in their academic and personal goals. I also valued contributing to the Staff Pride Network, Ally Network and the Higher Education Pride Practitioner Network. I also collaborated with ECU Equity and Diversity officers to provide support for ECU’s Student Queer Collective. My community development experience helped me build capacity in health promotion and prevention strategies across the organisation. I was also a member of three steering committees: The Mental Health Working Party, tasked to develop an institution-wide mental health and wellbeing policy. The Vice Chancellor’s Advisory Committee for Addressing Sexual Assault and Sexual Harassment on Campus, tasked to advise the Vice-Chancellor on an action plan to meet the recommendations of the Australian Human Rights Commission (AHRC) and Universities Australia, in addressing sexual assault and sexual harassment on campus. The Joint Staff Consultative Committee addressed academic and general staff workloads, the Staff Enterprise Agreement and staff career and development. My key responsibilities included: -Delivery of clinical services -Management of staff resources, data management, reporting and budget -Advising the student services director on student wellbeing and crisis management,-Management of critical incidents and mental health promotion on campus, -Promotion of the service to students and staff, -Networking with relevant external agencies,-Attendance of WA Heads of Counselling meetings.While in this role, I have developed the service in several key areas: -Increased delivery of student workshops, -Introduction of support groups in areas such as anxiety, disability, LGBTQA+ and ADHD, -Improved follow-up procedures with clients designed to identify students at risk of failing,-Implementation of the service's first electronic case management software to improve the management of information and reporting procedures, -Introducing regular student and staff feedback to inform and shape service delivery.

ASeTTS is the lead agency providing psychological and support services for Refugees and Asylum Seekers in Perth. On a short-term back-fill contract, I provided interim coordination to the clinical team.My key responsibilities included: -Management and supervision of the clinical team, -Oversee policy development -Provide leadership and support to the clinical team during difficult organisational change.

RAS is a specialist NGO delivering mental health and advocacy services for asylum seekers and refugees resettling in Auckland. This was one of my most rewarding work contexts. I enjoyed working in a multi-disciplinary mobile team developing cross-cultural therapeutic approaches. My key responsibilities included: -Psychological assessment and delivery of specialist trauma counselling, -Facilitating therapy and psycho-education groups,-Contributing to community and social development within Refugee communities, -Participating in advocacy on behalf of Refugee communities and groups.-Supervision of Refugee Community Link Workers, Interpreters and Counselling Students.

As a School Psychologist and Boarding Supervisor at Yew Chung International School (Shandong, China), I was responsible for counselling, pastoral care, and boarding facilities.
