I am responsible for oversight of content development for PLUS, a non-profit focused on supporting all Professionals.

The job of Director Of Educational Technology is done for the purpose/s of consulting and leading with OSPI, AESD, ESDs, and school districts in Washington State regarding; educational technology programs; educational technology integration; leadership development in matters related to educational technology; implementation of federal and state educational technology and computer science standards; collaborating with public agencies and school districts; supervision of staff, and onboarding of new staff.

Based upon the need to support education and their need for informational technology the legislature has created special task forces to create solutions to our current situation. I was selected as a memberrepresenting our state in the educational technology integration specialty. This task force will directlyimpact legislative decisions and support our districts.

The Association of Educational Service Districts were given the task using CARES funding to develop astatewide plan for statewide professional learning, family/parent and child care provider supports, andcontinuous learning strategies to support districts with the need to transition to remote/distance learning.Part of this included selecting Lead Design teams to facilitate, manage, and develop this project. I wasselected as the lead designer for this work and specifically supporting districts and community around the top five LMS selected in Washington state. The top five LMS were identified as Google Classroom, Canvas, Schoology, Microsoft Teams, and Seesaw (Note: We recognize that not all of these are identifiedas LMS, however on behalf of the districts the language was used.) Currently the professional learningand opportunities have reached over 20,000 teachers and growing to include states outside ofWashington. This now includes best practices for continuous learning that support teachers in all learning environments. Also the lead for the Future-Focused Educators’ Summit – July 2021.

I have developed a creative regional network to provide districts access to leadership and professional learning around technology integration for all students. This includes but is not limited to developing andadministering professional learning to staff on Computer Science, G-Suite, Projects Based Learning,Digital Media, STEM Integration, Technology Integration, One-to-One Device use, Digital Citizenship,Technology Safety, District Technology Policies and application, Network Services, InformationalTechnology support, Student IT Programs, and district partnership connections. My main role has beenthat of administrator, where I support my districts in their integration strategies; and have been a keyplayer with statewide decision making around STEM, Digital Learning, and Computer Science. I believethat all students should have equity and access to technology resources, but we need to understand thatpolicy and decisions need to be in a place that supports their unique needs. My expertise is known for myinnovation around integration that is best practice for teachers, students, and the community.

When Washington State adopted the national Computer Science Standards for K-12 there became a needfor support around integration into all classrooms. Washington State provided a one-million-dollar grantopportunity to support districts implementation of Computer Science. I wrote and was awarded a largegrant on behalf of the AESD and Washington State to develop leadership at a state level that in turndeveloped Computer Science leaders in school districts across Washington State. I have run both thestatewide leadership team for Computer Science as well as developed a teacher leadership network nowknown as #WINforCS (Washington Integration Network for Computer Science). The original teacherleadership network had thirty-five members and we have grown to over 200 members working onsupporting Computer Science integration K-12. We have increased private sector and non-profitpartnerships with our network and are growing rapidly. We have supported awareness and access acrossthe state as well as providing integral information, data, and communication to our state legislature. Ourpartners include CSforALL, Microsoft, TEALs, Code.org, AViD, GirsWhoCode, Apple, Google,Facebook, TechStart, and more. I am still the lead grant writer, grant manager, and state lead forComputer Science within this work.

With the importance of technology in every facet of living; it is no longer an optional content area for our students and adults. It is my passion and role to support our educational system in learning the best way to integrate technology into all content areas. Integration of technology goes beyond just knowing how to use our available resources, its the understanding that they allow us to function at a different level and the knowledge that as technology improves our use of it will as well. I work with educators across Washington state to support their understanding of all forms of integration.

I provide Digital Learning Professional Development opportunities to the Capital Region in Washington State. This includes all Digital Learning Integration support, Media Services,and Educational Technology supports. Some specialties I work on include STEM integration, Computer Science professional learning and support, Online course creation and implementation, G-Suite strategies and support, Region wide digital learning strategies and planning, TPEP (Teacher and Principal Evaluation Project) training and support, eVAL training and support, and more. I have the privilege of working with 44 School Districts within my Region and also get to support other districts across the state. We work in partnership with all other ESDs and in direct collaboration with OSPI in Washington. I pride myself on Digital Learning Integration techniques and know all teachers can help their students with 21st Century Learning. Other Unique Certifications: Google Certified Educator Level 1 and 2, Code.org - CS in Algebra Facilitator, and Canvas Course Developer.

As the Regional Mathematics Coordinator for North Central Educational Service District. My primary role is to LEAD, SERVE, and SUPPORT our 29 school districts and the statewide network.I develop live and online professional learning opportunities for all in education.I also support educational technology for the state and a resource for new online learning opportunities in almost all regions.I have developed many products that support educators and meet their needs.I lead many groups across the state and continue to grow in my field.

I worked at Franklin Middle School for the Yakima School District. I had many opportunities to improve my practice and learn from amazing colleagues. This role continued my love for education and supported my growth into becoming a leader.

I had the opportunity to learn how to be an educator through my volunteer experience as a classroom assistant at Nob Hill Elementary School, in Yakima, WA for seven years. I was in a program called American Literacy Corps through our community college YVCC, that had me volunteer at an Elementary school to help students read. Once involved I couldn't stop coming. I rearranged my college schedule to go everyday and be a support in all grade levels. I was trained in education from classroom experiences I received. These educators mentored me and had put me on my path to become an educational leader.
