Preparing an Options Assessment for Supporting the Government of Uzbekistan on the implementation of the National Industrial Energy Efficiency Program 2015-2019 in conjunction with the World Bank's Uzbekistan Industrial Energy Efficiency Program.

Assisted CCAP in partnering with the United Nations Development Programme to conduct a climate finance capacity building workshop in Uzbekistan. The goal of the series of workshops is to strengthen Uzbekistan’s engagement with the Green Climate Fund to identify, develop, and submit for financing transformational, competitive climate finance proposals.Prepared training modules on project/program financial analysis and risk analysis & management. Co-conducted the training for 35 Uzbekistani bankers, government officials, civil society leaders and researchers, October 10-13, 2017. Presentations delivered in Russian.

Supporting UNEP, through its DTIE OzonAction Branch in support of the Climate and Clean Air Coalition's HFC Initiative, to develop National HFC Inventory and Identification of Opportunities for Introduction of Low-GWP Alternatives in 5 countries: Bahamas, Cambodia, Kyrgyzstan, Maldives and Mongolia. Also supporting the development of a national Ozone Depleting Substances (ODS) alternatives survey for Turkmenistan, including training at an in-country stakeholder workshop.Presented draft HFC inventory methodology guidance in Russian to Europe and Central Asia regional network of national ozone officers, November 2016, Chisinau, Moldova.

Support of US-APEC Technical Assistance to Advance Regional Integration (US-ATAARI) program to assist APEC countries to review their domestic fossil fuel subsidy regimes to reduce inefficiencies. Co-led country team for the Philippines voluntary peer review, including facilitation of a site visit, the preparation of a background report, and the preparation of the peer review document of the fossil fuel subsidy regimes of the Philippines (completed July 2016), Chinese Taipei (Taiwan; July 2017), and Vietnam (February 2018). The ICF International team sub-contracted for Nathan Associates, the lead implementer of US-ATAARI for the Philippines and Vietnam reviews.

The GEF Independent Evaluation Office is undertaking a comprehensive evaluation of the GEF's private sector engagement under the GEF-6 replenishment (2014 to the present). GEF strategies to engage the private sector and encourage investment have included transforming policy and regulatory environments to encourage sustainable business investment, deploying innovative financial instruments, convening multi stakeholder alliances, strengthening institutional capacity and demonstrating innovative approaches. This evaluation reviews the more holistic and comprehensive approach under GEF-6 by mainstreaming private sector engagement across GEF focal area strategies and integrated approach pilots. The GEF IEO will present its 6th comprehensive evaluation of the GEF in advance of negotiations for the GEF-7 replenishment.

Developed comparative case studies on bundled and joint procurement for energy efficient street lighting projects across multiple municipalities. Case studies focused on a bundled Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) project in India supported by the World Bank, and a province-wide joint procurement for LED street lights and turnkey installation & maintenance services in Ontario, Canada.

Researched and drafted a Global Landfill Gas and Wastewater Methane Abatement Strategy for the Pisces Foundation's Climate and Energy program.
