Lead user experience and user interface design efforts for the new SMC product team. Facilitated design sessions, produced mockups, wireframes and high-fidelity prototypes for all user-facing applications. Participated in 30+ live prototype demonstrations for more than 13 New York City-based hospitals and delivery systems. Established a design process and ensured consistency across design efforts by developing a design system and component library. Worked directly with executive leaders, product teams, and developers from design through implementation.

As a senior-level consultant, I worked directly with clients in the healthcare and health insurance fields on business process and technology solutions projects. Our team recently completed a major system conversion project for the Appeals & Grievances department at a New York City-based non-profit insurance company. I acted as lead coordinator of development, testing, and deployment of over 350 individual document templates, working cross-functionally with the A&G business team, developers, and vendor partners. All templates were delivered 100% on-time, along with supporting documentation to ensure knowledge transfer.

As a business consultant, I worked as an individual contributor at a New York City-based non-profit insurance company, coordinating between the Enrollment & Billing (E&B) department and multiple enterprise-wide correspondence transformation projects. This role required management of multiple workstreams, including: (1) creating an inventory and documenting requirements for all E&B correspondence in support of a major enrollment system enhancement project; (2) documenting mail intake procedures, designing new processes, identifying resources, and supporting trainings as part of an enterprise mail digitization project; (3) documenting processes and supporting management of correspondence on legacy systems.

As a business analyst, I worked on multiple projects for various clients including:(1) Serving as a project manager responsible for tracking and coordinating on-time deliverable submission for over 40 Compliance and Regulatory audits across multiple departments, including Claims, Enrollment & Billing, and Member Services;(2) Documenting user stories, building an interface matrix, and interviewing cross-organizational stakeholders at New York City-based nonprofit insurance company, to inform a project roadmap and UX/UI design of a member-facing insurance mobile application;(3) Designing wireframes for online insurance broker and member portal for a Springfield, Massachusetts-based insurance company to support a brand-new line of voluntary insurance products; (4) Conducting research and providing preliminary designs of an application to facilitate the sharing of sensitive patient data covered under 42 CFR Part 2 for an ACO in Western Massachusetts;(5) Assisting over 30 individual provider practices within one of Connecticut’s largest hospital networks with timely completion and submission of Security Risk Assessments (SRA), and analysis of interoperability performance measures, as a component of meeting CMS Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) requirements, both in 2017 and 2018;(6) Testing enhancements for an insurance and medical benefit payment system developed by SMC Partners and utilized by a third-party administrator (TPA) to serve clients enrolled in a state Ryan White HIV/AIDS drug assistance program.

As legislative aide, I reported directly to Senator Mae Flexer (Windham, CT) and managed her Capitol office in Hartford. I advocated for and advanced the Senator’s legislative agenda, managing submission and monitoring of the Senator’s bills, drafting testimony, organizing advocates and grassroots supporters. I managed intake of all official requests to the Senator’s office, including requests from the executive branch, other elected officials, state agencies, media, industry professionals, and government affairs representatives. I worked with the Senator’s constituents, local organizations, and businesses who sought assistance from federal, state, and local agencies.

As constituent services aide, I Implemented outreach plans for state Senators, assisted with drafting district mailings, and organized in-district events. Additionally, I monitored daily legislative activity—including committee meetings, public hearings, and Senate debates—and managed the Senate redistricting database, and the Senate research database of bills and issues.

As legislative coordinator, I supported the government relations team, tracking legislation and coordinating daily coverage of meetings and events at the State Capitol. I also assisted with outreach to legislators on behalf of lobbyists and clients, conducted research and analysis of issues and statutes, and supervised sessional interns.
