One major project that we have been working on is the Career Tracking of PhD Alumni - Developed methodology to track our PhD alumni over a 15 year window to better understand the career trajectories of the students who received their PhDs from WSU from 1999-2014. My research group is interested in RNAs and proteins that undergo significant structural changes as part of their biological function. About half of the lab works on non-coding and regulatory RNAs that mediate post-transcriptional gene regulation, often with the help of the RNA-binding protein hfq. We are pursuing a molecular understanding of how this gene.

Oversee the day-to-day management of the Chemistry PhD program consisting of ~30 graduate faculty and ~180 doctoral students. Interface with the graduate school on matters pertaining to graduate education; perform strategic planning to ensure that graduates of our program are positioned for successful careers after Wayne State; help resolve conflicts that.
