I have over 30 years’ experience providing expert evidence in international arbitration (both commercial and investor state). I have provided expert evidence in #arbitration conducted under the auspices of many institutions including ICC, ICDR, ICSID, DIAC, NAI, DIS and under UNCITRAL rules. I have provided written evidence in over 150 disputes and have testified and been cross-examined on my evidence on many occasions before tribunals around the world: including in DC; NYC: London; Paris; Geneva; Stockholm: Dubai; Singapore and Brisbane. Prior to joining Alvarez and Marsal, I held the role of global leader in the Deloitte #disputes practice, which I undertook variously out of Paris, New York and London.I have been regularly listed by Who’s Who Legal as a global elite thought leader both in International Arbitration and more generally by the publication since its inception. I have dealt with disputes in several industries including aerospace and defence, manufacturing, transport, pharmaceuticals, education, property, information technology, media/telecommunications, automotive, mining and quarrying, construction and travel/leisure. I have provided evidence in relation to several disputes between joint venture partners, in relation to alleged breaches of contract in the distribution sector and in connection with the privatisation of regulated businesses in Central and Eastern Europe.On# investor-state matters, I have provided advice and evidence in matters relating inter alai to Poland, Romania, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Hungary, Taiwan, Libya and Indonesia.Over the course of my career, I have also provided advice to parties in post transaction disputes, both in connection with #arbitrations and #expert-determinations. I have acted both as an advisor to one of the parties and as the determining expert. I have been appointed as an independent expert by the ICC Centre of Expertise and directly by a tribunal in an ICC arbitration. I have also acted as mediator and have assisted in pre-litigation settlement discussions. In addition to my work in arbitration I spent several years assisting Vivendi as defendant in long running securities class actions suits in the New York Courts. I have also provided written expert evidence for the English High Court. I am a Fellow of the ICAEW, a native English speaker and fluent in French. Outside of work, and having lived in Paris for the last 20 years, I enjoy food and wine and try to offset this with skiing, cycling and an occasional run (although it's a while since I ran a sub 3h marathon)
