Throughout many departmental realignments, I’ve effectively reduced anxiety by giving associates ample attention and sponsoring team celebrations. Associate engagement scores for twenty-four staff maintained the highest rating of Tier I. We never faltered covering all shifts, even those most difficult to fill.When challenged to provide spiritual services with limited resources for all patients, my creative problem solving resulted in developing a best practice Volunteer Chaplain service, writing policy, obtaining sponsorship, sourcing volunteers, and training staff. With fifteen volunteer staff, 100% of patients are now supported who would otherwise not receive services.Job satisfaction comes from finding the balance between driving staff to achieve business mission and goals while leveraging assignments to empower them, helping them grow into their potential. This is my standard of leadership.I was challenged to improve care for all hospital deaths (expirations). With a multidisciplinary team, we used A3 and Lean methodology to analyze the problem and create a new process.
