I am the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) of Xclaim. I help organize our work across product, business development, marketing, research, trading and legal. Xclaim is the leading online clearinghouse for buying and selling bankruptcy claims. Our marketplace listing service and robust auction platform serve a global network of buyers and sellers with real-time market intelligence, transparent pricing and easier access to value recovery. In 2023, Xclaim traded $391 million of claims against bankrupt crypto exchanges including FTX, Genesis, Celsius, BlockFi, Voyager and Mt. Gox, and nearly $800 million of claims have been traded since our founding. We're a lean team of finance, law, restructuring and technology experts sharing a mission to help creditors recover more value faster by bringing an illiquid, opaque market into the future through transparency, technology and innovation.Prior to joining Xclaim, I spent more than seven years practicing law at two international law firms. Most recently, I was a Senior Associate at Ropes & Gray, where I represented major creditors, lenders, ad hoc and official committees, corporate borrowers and debtors, sponsors, purchasers and other interested parties in out-of-court restructurings and chapter 11 cases, bankruptcy sales, complex claims trades, event-driven financings and special situations transactions.From 2018-19, I was seconded to KKR where I was embedded as a desk lawyer with the global Special Situations investment team. On the desk, I covered portfolio positions within the Special Situations funds, supported related transactions, and advised KKR on new investments, including rescue, DIP and exit financings, distressed-for-control trades, claims trades, and other event-driven and bespoke structured investments. I am also a trained mediator and have facilitated dozens of cases in Manhattan Civil and Small Claims Court.I entered the practice of law after dedicating my early career to advising innovators and investors on sustainable business strategy, change management, marketing and design. I have helped streamline operations, develop compelling brands, and commercialize groundbreaking products—including the Chevrolet Volt. I am also a widely-cited author on the history of the British window tax.
