Metis Technology provided security and infrastructure consultancy mainly to Government and Defense projects.

Acting as an Interface between Development and McAfee internal IT. My role was to work with the global development teams who were working on yet-to-be released security solutions, working with Joint Development Partners, Alpha and Beta software; testing and deploying the solutions into the McAfee enterprise itself to provide real world enterprise feedback, manage that feedback to the development team managers and directors, ensure that bugs that were detected within McAfee were reported before subsequent releases were built, providing feedback on interface designs and usability of the products to the development teams and generally ensuring the best products that could be built were released by testing each build within a 10,000+ node estate which is representative of the real world which could not be achieved realistically within labs and test rigs alone.I was also responsible for supporting all services hosted in Aylesbury from Workstations and Servers to Networking and Telephony systems to include at least once completely redesigned, planned and executed successfully a total data centre re-design from cabling to new cabinets, servers and appliances, network switches, routers firewalls and IPS devices.

Provide 2nd/3rd line Support, solo, Directly to Milton Keynes area which was 5 sites and over 400 user’s total. Also to the Midlands in a team of 3 with over 700 users. Provide consultancy to IT Support in the north and south UK. Train Helpdesk staff (1st & 2nd) with Issue Resolutions and Newly Implemented Software and Technology. Supervise and co-ordinated team of 3, for 9 months during nation wide COE roll out of windows 2000 pro, office 2000 and Norton Anti-virus + Additional COE software, across 6 sites (1000 PC’s+) Server administration and support .Trouble Shoot Layer 1 and 2 networking issues such as Cabling, hub, switch, repeaters etc.

Provide Site/3rd line Support for UK. Work in support team of 3 with over 2500 users nationwide in 8 sites. Co-ordinate support in UK for these sites. Maintain and create User accounts in Exchange and NT. Server administration and support.Trouble Shoot Layer 1 and 2 networking issues such as Cabling, hub, switch, repeaters etc.

Assist UK software developer and support current hardware and software for site. Provide IT Solution’s to the logistics Department and warehouse. Maintain infrastructure and backups. Support 100 users in 1 site Support software and hardware and all COE applications/systems including In-House applications. Maintain Server Infrastructure and network. General Admin of NT User accounts and Exchange accounts. Provide IT Solutions to all business units. For 300+ users In Milton Keynes over 3 sites.
