About Andrew Grear Rpia (Fellow)
Andrew Grear is currently a Senior Member of Planning Panels Victoria. Prior to this he was the Executive Director of State Planning Policy which incorporated State Planning Services, Regional Planning Partnerships, Planning Systems, Future Reform within the Planning & Land Services Group (PaLS) of the Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) within the Victorian Government. Andrew is also on the State Executive of the Victorian Division of the Planning Institute of Australia and has previously been the Victorian Government and South Australian Government representative on the Australian Building Codes Board.Andrew proactively identifies, establishes, influences and maintains key stakeholder relationships to ensure the efficient management of resources that contribute to economic, environmental and social objectives for balanced urban and regional development through integrated planning & building reform, land use planning, active heritage management, emergency management and building system operations . This work is always with an eye to improvement and in recent times has been involved in planning, building and land development reforms.In previous jurisdictional roles Andrew has been actively at the forefront of the South Australian Governments Planning Reforms which culminated in the passing of the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act 2016. He has been involved from concept through to realisation and involved in Departmental and industry wide reforms to realise the Act. Engaging within Government and with industry and Local Government.
