AVP, Distributed Systems Engineering – VirtualizationLead engineering teams to design and implement a LINUX on system Z consolidation and virtualization initiative responsible for approximately $2MM annually in hardware savings over the distributed systems environment. I brought together the most cost effective, best of breed technologies and professionals to build the environment. This position required us to bring specialist from 13 different groups across multiple disciplines together to build a highly complex system. The project was completed on time and under budget. I developed executive level presentations from inception through completion to keep executive level managers informed of progress on an ongoing basis. Responsible for domestic and international “top ten” projects. I provided lead technical support for Sun Solaris, LINUX, limited HPUX and IBM AIX. We supported hardware ranging from small workgroup systems to large platforms like Sun’s E15K. We were responsible for change control processes on all assigned servers and projects. Changes were taken through a cycle of development, test, and production with phased rollouts.
