I was responsible for managing and growing existing key accounts for Axis Fleet Management using a full range of business solutions. This is achieved through establishing and developing relationships with key personnel within these accounts, and understanding their business needs to offer suitable solutions.I also help drive internal solutions and improvements within different parts of the business, such as compliance, operations and asset management, which creates better customer satisfaction and results.

I became a part of the Logistics Development project team specialising in Transport to assist and lead in delivering projects for improving and implementing new systems and processes.Key parts of my role involved managing projects with both internal and external stakeholders, to maximise performance from the systems whilst also recording substantial savings. These projects ranged from liaising with logistics partners to better utilise Microlise, improve capability of the planning tool and improving the use of the Epod solution to reduce loss claims. I also managed key day-to-day supplier relationships, system developments and solutions to further improve the planning tool. As a key part of the team I helped implement the transport planning system upgrade. This delivered a key saving back to the business

I was given the opportunity to join a new start-up for DHL - Trailer Advertising following my success within the Central Rental Desk. To make this concept a reality, it included meeting with industry experts & suppliers to source solutions, defining operating procedures and creating a reliable stream of internal DHL assets to carry the advertisements. Upon signing a contract with DHL Express for 150 assets to carry their promotional advertising, my main role was to successfully project manage the implementation of the 150 assets across the UK. This included coordinating project schedules and resources, tracking progress, controlling issues and driving resolutions and controlling the budget and escalating spending issues. After the initial fitting, part of my role is to manage and distribute weekly reports both externally to DHL Express and internal DHL Contracts. I also host quarterly update meetings to track progress against SLA’s and resolve any issues.

Following the completion of my 18 months on the DHL Graduate Programme I secured a permanent role with in the Central Rental Desk, focusing on increasing the DHL internal depot usage within the business. This involved liaising with many internal depot stakeholders and multiple external suppliers to achieve the target, which usage rising from 45% to 90% within 12 months. As well as cost saving, this also allowed increased visibility and reporting capability back to the business.

The DHL Supply Chain graduate scheme is an 18 month programme, specialising in Operations and Supply Chain Management.The scheme consists of a series of development modules, including;- Leadership and Management skills- Career Development skills- Presentation skills- Project ManagementFor my first graduate placement I was based at JD Wetherspoons in Daventry. I gained experience with the Point of Sale (POS) shift manager; focusing on the effective monitoring of processes; generating weekly stock reports and producing detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as well as a First Line Manager. I spent my second placement working with Jaguar Land Rover focusing on driving cost efficiencies via a continuous improvement project specifically looking at the site’s crew sheet. I also spent time supervising a team of 11 operatives and 1 Process Leader on the Receiving deck for Jaguar XK and F Type models. For my final placement, I was positioned within the Central Rental Desk at the Asset Management Center of Excellence in Manchester. My main responsibilities included gaining the initial rental kit requirements from over 75 sites, sourcing this kit from different suppliers and managing the input of the kit to sites across the UK.
