I am the driving force behind Andrew Henry Presents, a visionary theatrical producer celebrated for crafting extraordinary live performance experiences. As the co-founder of Red Line Productions, a trailblazer in Australia's independent theatre scene, I work to consistently pushes creative boundaries.In 2023, my collaboration with GWB Entertainment resulted in a groundbreaking revival of Arthur Miller's "Death of a Salesman" at Her Majesty's Melbourne, starring Anthony LaPaglia. The production earned critical acclaim and a transfer to Sydney's prestigious Theatre Royal.I have cultivated a robust pipeline of works, emphasising compelling narratives and collaborations with exceptional artists.Earlier in 2023, it was an honour to produce "Amadeus" at the Sydney Opera House, headlining the venue's 50th Anniversary celebrations, starring the incomparable Michael Sheen alongside a phenomenal Australian cast, with costumed directed by the iconic fashion powerhouse team at Romance Was Born. In my time leading Red Line Productions (2014-2023) , I transformed Sydney's Old Fitz Theatre into a crucible for independent work. The Old Fitz Theatre became globally-recognised as a venue presenting world-class live experiences, and a cauldron for artists to create ambitious and daring work. Many artists who first cut their teeth working at the Old Fitz are now recognised as some of the leading practitioners working in theatres across the country. In 2020, in the face of a global pandemic that left many isolated in their homes, I pursued quick innovation in order to lead the presentation of live-streamed theatre readings and live-streamed theatre seasons across the world. In over 17 countries, close to 25,000 people tuned in to live streamed performances of: Orphans by Lyle Kessler starring Alec Baldwin; Gruesome Playground Injuries by Rajiv Joseph starring Rose Byrne and Ewen Leslie, with live music by John Butler; Elenoa Rokobaro Live in Concert and Thom Pain (Based on Nothing) featuring Toby Schmitz.I quite literally live for the arts and am an alumnus of the prestigious school at Steppenwolf in Chicago. The venue grew to become the most important crucible of independent work in Australia, with over 550,000 patrons filling the 55-seat theatre across 9 years of programming. Andrew (along with fellow Red Line founder Vanessa Wright) was awarded the Hayes Gordon Memorial Award for outstanding contribution to Australian Theatre.As custodian of the Old Fitz Theatre, the company presented over 200 productions in 9 years, presenting and co-presenting Australian Premieres of timely international works, new Australian works, and landmark revivals. These include: Angels in America, Anatomy of A Suicide, The Wolves, The Cripple of Inishmaan, Krapp’s Last Tape, Doubt, A View From The Bridge, The Humans, The Aliens, Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo, 4 Minutes 12 Seconds, Stalking The Bogeyman, I Am My Own Wife by Doug Wright and many more. Productions transferred to Belvoir St, Ensemble, Merrigong, Newcastle Civic & Glen St. Over 20 exclusively commissioned new Australian works included the World Premieres of This Much Is True by Louis Nowra, Degenerate Art by Toby Schmitz & King of Pigs by Steve Rogers. The last year of creative custodianship saw a landmark revival of The Chairs directed by Gale Edwards and featuring Paul Capsis and iOTA; as well as a searing new production of A Streetcar Named Desire that won 4 Sydney Theatre Awards including Best Independent Production.The Old Fitz Theatre became globally-recognised as a venue presenting world-class live experiences, and a cauldron for artists to create ambitious and daring work. Many artists who first cut their teeth working at the Old Fitz are now recognised as some of the leading practitioners working in theatres across the country.
