After moving back to Boston in March 2010, I worked hard to break into the informal science education field, a popular industry with few full-time positions, by volunteering or working part-time at six different organizations (up to four at one time!). This broad approach, a strong work ethic, and persistence paid off. I worked myself into a full-time job in the Boston area in ~18 months, which is less than the typical two to three years in this field. I'm happy to provide the details of which organizations I worked at from March 2010 to September 2011 upon request.
