These weeks included training with our assigned weapon, hand-to-hand combat skills, and obstacle courses. These skills are evaluated in a field training exercise known as the Hammer.In the third phase, also called the White Phase, we train with our rifle and master how to work effectively within small teams. These weeks include basic rifle marksmanship, maintenance, target engagement, combat development, and a two-day field training exercise known as the Anvil.In the last phase, or the Blue Phase, we refine and apply everything we've learned so far, as well as complete the final rite of passage from civilian to Soldier in a three-day field training exercise known as the Forge.
