Andrew got recruited by the leadership to build the team in Seoul, Korea, Google's Korean office, in order to work closely with leading TV manufacturers, SOC makers and technology partners in the region (Korea, Japan, China and Taiwan)Andrew has built Google TV engineering team in Seoul from scratch, and later, completely took over platform engineering as well as some of the key application services on it, and launched the platform with two IPTV providers in Korea, and LG for their TVs, and later launched in 10+ countries in Europe including SFR / Bougyous (French IPTV provider) for their STBs, and Phillps/TPV/Sony for their TVs, and moved back to Google Headquarter in Mountain View, California in June 2013.During this time, he changed his role at Google from staff software engineer to head of engineering group including engineers, testers, contractors and vendors. He worked with Tier 1 companies in the TV industry (TV makers, SOC makers and system integrators), and stepped up to play a senior engineering representative role of Google TV team, and successfully influenced partners to build a strategy that was aligned with Google. (and Sony / Phillips and many others are still the strong partners of Android TV platform after Google TV has transitioned to Android TV).It was the 1st attempt we've wrapped up with many lessons, so that Google TV's leadership team later were able to spawn off and lead Google's various H/W efforts including Google Pixel program, Chromecast, Google home, and others, based on the experiences we've gained during that time.

It was industry's first implementation of fluid video-on-demand service on a cable network with advanced set-top box, and commercially deployed in several cable operators in US including Charter communication. Later on, serving "VOD library" as a extra service on a PayTV operator STB became a "standard" in US and across the globe.

During that time, Andrew took an a SI project for public franchise restaurant called COCO's Korea (total of 44 restaurants and two factories). Andrew has built a team, executed, and finally delivered solution consists of 5,000 pages of documents and 200,000 lines of code runs across more than 60 machines in the private network between office, factory and branch stores.The system consisted of order entry/dispatch management, production management (MRP), prime cost management, EIS system, warehouse management, inventory management, etc.All of those traditional IT system concept was new to Andrew, but he studied all of the required concept quickly through several books in a few months, and then designed and implemented the whole system with his team in just a short of 1.5 years, and deployed at newly built factory in Jinchun, Korea.

It was first distributed as public domain version through online BBS (dial up modem based online forum before Internet was born), and became hugely popular in Korea, downloaded more than 500K times in one month.Team got encouraged by huge response, and decided to commercialize it, so they founded ESTsoft Corporation, and after further development, commercial version of the word processor was launched and produced revenue to build the company.21th century word is remembered as a "passionate challenger" built by young group of talented programmers against Hangul word processor which dominated Korean market, with its innovative multiple document editing feature via virtual memory management, vector font based editing features.This project served Andrew to be able to master all of the computer science basics covering X86 CPU architecture, peripheral management, graphics, memory / file management, data structure and overall S/W design, development, debugging, release process, and became the basis for Andrew to grow into industry leading S/W architect.Later on, ESTSoft went public in Korea, and has been continuously growing (http://www.estsoft.com).Andrew still provides consultation to ESTSoft as it is the first company he founded.
