Before I delve further into my story, it's important to understand why I've pursued this path. My primary objective has always been to enhance communication and facilitate the discovery of a clear sense of purpose among others.During my eighth-grade years, I developed a profound passion for action movies from the 1980s. Icons like Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Clint Eastwood were larger than life to me. I aspired to become the next action hero.In pursuit of that dream, I enlisted in the Army, inspired by characters like Stallone's Rambo, Arnold's character in Predator, and Clint's role in Heartbreak Ridge. Although I never achieved those Hollywood heroics, my journey led me to the 10th Mountain Division, the renowned 82nd Airborne Division, graduate from Ranger School, and eventually a 20-year career in Special Operations. Becoming an officer allowed me to lead small teams in challenging and remote locations, engaging in strategic planning and crisis management within tight timeframes and budget constraints, satisfying my inner action hero.My interest in mentoring was sparked during my time as an instructor at the pre-Ranger academic facility in North Carolina. In this austere environment, I honed my mentoring skills, guiding young and aspiring soldiers toward leadership and success. Teaching and instructing became my life's calling, driven by a passion for leadership, mentorship, team building, and management. This journey ultimately led me to Army Special Forces after passing the qualification course and earning my Green Beret. In Colorado, I taught foreign militaries the art of effective planning and execution of training in their respective countries.I continued to evolve as an adaptable officer, actively seeking out challenging assignments in project management. Over my 30-year career, I embraced a variety of roles, including leadership, supervision, program and operations management, international relations, project management, emergency and crisis management, and budget and fiscal management. My ability to articulate and develop strategic plans while adhering to projected budget parameters was a hallmark of my career.As I transitioned into a new phase in the spring of 2023, I'm committed to obtaining my MBA in 2024. My strengths, as identified by Gallup, include Context, Activator, Focus, Discipline, and Self-Assurance. These strengths have been instrumental in my journey and will continue to guide me in the future.
