As the first Director of the Indiana State Department of Agriculture’s (ISDA) Economic Development Division, I built and directed a team of 12 and was responsible for supporting agribusiness attraction, retention, and expansion activities for the State. As Director of the Central Indiana Small Business Development Center (SBDC), I managed a team of advisors providing aspiring and current small business owners a variety of free business consulting and low-cost training services including: business plan development, financial packaging and lending assistance, exporting and importing support, disaster recovery assistance, procurement and contracting aid, market research, marketing support, and valuation services.In this role, my team provided over 5500 counselling hours to almost 1000 clients, helping them generate over $30M in capital infusion and helping more than 70 pre-venture entrepreneurs transition to business ownership.
