Enlisted as a PV1 with the MOS 11B in the Pennsylvania National Guard in January of my freshmen year of college. In between the time I enlisted and when I left for Infantry One Station Unit Training, I was promoted twice, from PV1 to PV2, and from PV2 to Private First Class.I completed Infantry One Station Unit Training at Fort Benning from May 2012 to August 2012. After which, I was assigned to C. Co 2-112th INF in State College.During my time at C. Co, I served as a Radio Telephone Operator, and was responsible for maintaining Platoon and Company level communications within the unit, as well as within the Battalion. I would frequently communicate with Range Control during training events. I was also responsible for planning and executing training for the company, in coordination with my Platoon Leader and assistant instructors. In November 2013, I was promoted to the rank of Specialist in the minimum required time of 18 months. In February 2014, I was offered an ROTC scholarship from Penn State, at which point I was Honorably Discharged from the Pennsylvania National Guard, and transferred to the Army Reserves under Cadet Command.

This was a summer job I held in between semesters at Penn State, and simultaneously with drilling in the PA National Guard. I was hired as an entry level worker along with two other employees. After one month, the owner made me the foreman for all jobs. This required getting a permit from a physician to show eligibility to safely drive and operate an 18,000 pound box truck and a pick up truck. This also required me to maintain inventory of the trucks, lead cleaning jobs all over the state in coordination with the owner, and provide insight on the job status to the owner. In addition to driving the truck, I was responsible for maintaining and operating the equipment in it required for jobs. This included power washing machines, hoses and other miscellaneous house cleaning supplies,
