Supervising two Team Leaders and with 36 indirect reports, my role is responsible for the management and oversight of the student advising team in the Student Services sub-portfolio of Student Administration. I act as the senior subject matter expert on the Student Advising lifecycle and expertly manage service provision across multiple in-demand service channels for students regarding course planning, concurrent diplomas, academic progress advising as a result of SAR/CAPC, and subject planning advice for students going on outbound study abroad and exchange. This requires integral understanding of key business units within Student and Scholarly Services and in Faculties who assist with these processes and seamless referrals to other University teams in the provision of excellent course planning services.

The Academic Programs Manager leads and manages the development, implementation and maintenance of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Music’s coursework and non-award academic programs and curriculum. The position manages selection and admissions, and orientation processes for entry to the Faculty’s coursework and non-award academic programs and contributes to delivery of the student enrichment strategy.

The Deputy Director, Enrolment Services sets the strategic direction for enrolment-related activities for the entire student cohort at Swinburne, responsible for ensuring that all enrolment, course advice and customer service activities run smoothly and efficiently. The Enrolment Services portfolio brings all enrolment, higher education course advice, student debt management, data processing, data quality and compliance activities into a single team to provide consistency across all student cohorts, enable efficiencies and ensure a better overall student experience. The portfolio comprises four specialist teams: Higher Education course advice, Enrolment Support including Pathways and Vocational Education enrolment services, Apprenticeships and Traineeships, and Student Debt Management.

The Team Leader supervises seven staff members who specialise in providing enrolment-related services to five stakeholder Faculties of the University. Service provision includes delivering correct and accurate processing and expert advice on enrolment, re-enrolment, enrolment cancellation and re-instatement, course completion processing, requisite waivers, enrolment variations, study plan approvals for outbound study abroad and exchange students, academic progress reviews and coordination of advanced standing services for admitted students.

The Student Services Manager reports to the Manager, Science Student Centre and supervises a team of staff responsible for the delivery of front line advice, transactional services and support activities to undergraduate students and academic staff of the University.
