Responsible for architecting, deployment, and configuration of Windows Server 2003/2008r2 physical/virtual servers (Hyper-V) and storage in support of Microsoft’s Windows Server Labs, and Entertainment & Devices infrastructure divisions.This included maintaining inter-divisional service level agreements, managing client expectations throughout the course of project delivery, negotiation of timelines, and accountability for proper hand-off to daily operations Engineers.

Responsible for migration of the current IMLogic infrastructure from a SQL to Oracle BLOC solution. Phase 2 of this project includes building out the Sacramento IMLogic DR infrastructure and revisiting security standards on all tiers. Operational duties include:• Adaptation of existing project plans to meet revised timelines due to database server health.• Quickly ramping up on undocumented infrastructure, and creating a new repository/run book for successive Operations support. Primarily responsible for overseeing, monitoring, and supporting operations of the Production operations infrastructure including planning/implementing/rebuilding of existing systems as required and managing the release-to-production of application code in the form of hot fixes and patches.

Systems engineer responsible for building and maintaining the Microsoft IPTV lab server infrastructure. The infrastructure included hundreds of servers in the Mountainview CA campus and ranged from baseline Windows 2003 to virtualized farms of Windows Virtual Server 2005 machines. Operational duties included baseline building and patching of environments to complex troubleshooting of applications and systems.

Recruited as a contract employee to migrate Citrix MetaFrame farm from Cupertino to Tucson Data Center, I successfully completed the project prior to deadline. I was then converted to Full-Time exempt status (1 month into a 6 month contract), and assigned to implement Verity K-2 Search application and infrastructure. While the project did not successfully launch due to issues with CMS systems, the K-2 portion was successfully completed prior to deadline. Managing a team of 5 Engineers successfully gathered requirements, architected, and implemented High Availability Google Search infrastructure used for the entire external facing Symantec.com website. Responsibilities included maintenance of existing infrastructure assets, design review/implementation of future projects, and documentation for all environments.

Hired as a Technical Support Representative, was offered an Internship in the Information Technology Dept. Promoted from Intern to Associate Systems Engineer within 3 months. Responsibilities included day-to-day care and operation of the local mail, data, and SQL servers as well as telephony systems, and support of 80 employees. (Local and remote) Authored policies and procedures regarding electronic communications. Created backup and disaster recovery plans, and educated new employees regarding systems security and proper use.
