This is done by working towards milestones, continually measuring progress by talking to the local community and comparing to intelligence gathered from my own initiative as well as the “Staffordshire Police Information Network” system and acting upon the information in a variety of ways. To achieve the fastest results, a rapport has to be built with difficult individuals, such as known offenders, to signpost them away from criminal tendencies and encouraging them to become productive members of society.• Organised a youth football tournament in order to improve relations between the Police and the community• Liaised with local press to ensure appropriate coverage to enhance the Police image• Resolved neighbour disputes by mediating the two parties, finding out what is most important to each party and determining a sustainable solution to the problem that both can agree to• Communicated appropriately with a wide variety of people including talking to victims of crime immediately after an event, disbursing groups of youths from certain areas and representing the Police at Council meetings• Negotiated across multiple agencies including social services to gain prioritisation of my cases to ensure they did not become an on-going police issue• Formulated plans to apprehend offenders as well as working as part of a team to implement the plans • Prioritised tasks by instantly assessing the urgency and importance of new jobs as they are issued over the radio against my existing jobs to determine which jobs take priority Show less -
