Ensured a multi-layered network of satellite, multichannel and single-channel communication links across seven Forward Operating Bases (FOBs) throughout an area the size of Ohio. Within an austere environment, the network remained at a 98 percent availability rate that processed over 2,000,000 telephone calls per month, administered 6,000 Non-secure Internet Protocol Routed (NIPR) and 2,000 Secure Internet Protocol Routed (SIPR) accounts. During this same timeframe, an IT digital backbone at Al Asad and Al Taqaddum Air Bases received a $5.6 million dollar network upgrade. This capability upgrade increased data and telephony processing by 500 percent. This was managed carefully in order to balance the uninterrupted communications of the network during combat operations and the execution and installation of the entire upgrade. During the command of the Communication Squadron Detachments at Al Qa’im, Kalsu and Korean Village provided direct support to the 2d Marine Aircraft Wing Forward Air Boss and Direct Air Support Control/Air Support Element/Air Support Liaison Teams in the processing and execution of scheduled and immediate Joint Tactical Air Requests and Air Support Requests as the Ground Combat Element (GCE) maneuvered against enemy forces. During this period, the Communications Squadron provided direct support to 2d MAW (Fwd) assets through numerous surge operations during Marine Division level named operations such as SHUROOQ (SUNRISE), GUARDIAN SWORD, LIBERTY EXPRESS, PATRIOT SHIELD II, SAYAID, RAWAH/ANAH, RIVERGATE, IRON FIST, STEEL CURTAIN, SWORD, SCIMITAR, SABER, AND SANGUINE THUNDER. During these Operations, 2d MAW (Fwd) provided over 6,158 Casualty and Medical Evacuations (CASEVAC/MEDEVAC) sorties.

Enabled the Strategic Ground Equipment Working Group to equitably distribute critical communications equipment across the entire Marine Corps. Ensured timely and accurate communications in support of combat operations while assigned as a Combat Operations Center Watch Officer for 2d Marine Expeditionary Brigade Task Force Tarawa.
