- Worked on the development of a new laundry motor drive system. June365 is a startup that spun out from Fisher and Paykel Technologies, that is developing an innovative fitness product that combines resistance training powered by Fisher and Paykel Direct Drive motors and a digital personal trainer delivered via a mobile app.

Horizon Robotics is a startup I started that develops self-driving rovers for autonomous food delivery. Although the startup did not succeed, some of the greatest upskilling and learnings in my career occurred during this period.Key Responsibilities and Work Performed:- Designed and built the mechanical chassis of the first rover prototype, modelled in Autodesk Fusion 360.- Designed and built all the electrical and electronic systems of the of the first rover prototype.- Wrote the embedded software to control all the sensors of the of the first rover prototype. Firmware for MCUs were prototyped using the Arduino firmware stack. The main robotics application ran the ROS Kinetic framework under Ubuntu Linux 16.04 LTS.- Outsourced, scoped and managed software development work.- Wrote technical design documentation.- Prepared presentations and pitch decks and pitched to investors and at pitching events.- Attended conferences and events to build business networks and connections.- Recruited contractors. Managed team to ensure everyone is in sync and working together.- Conducted customer interviews and performed market research.

Worked in the electronics team designing electronic circuit boards (PCBs) for the SleepStyle CPAP flow generator. Role involved PCB schematic capture, PCB routing using Altium Designer, testing, report writing and documentation.

Developed an enhanced second prototype of an Ear-Level Data Logger used for measuring sound levels near the ear for better precision, bringing it closer to commercialisation, originally developed as part of a university project.

Employed by The University of Auckland as a Teaching Assistant to help younger students with their learning and coursework.

Travelled to the Tonga Islands to evaluate the performance and initiatives of a solar powered groundwater pumping system that was built for a high school in Tonga by a previous EWBNZ team in late 2009.

Completed research into protection systems for large wind farms. Designed computer simulations of wind farm networks and testing protection relay configurations.
