I work across the Planning for Growth and Let’s Get Wellington Moving programmes, integrating planning and policy direction and provisions. This includes work on Wellington City’s new District Plan, technical urban planning advice to the Let’s Get Wellington Moving transformational programme, plan for transit-oriented development around Wellington’s proposed mass rapid transit stations, and collaboration across interdisciplinary teams.

From 20 March to 15 May 2020, I was manager of the Fast Track Consenting Legislation team in MfE's Natural and Built System division. From January to 20 March 2020, I was a manager in MfE's Strategy and Stewardship division. From July to December 2019, I was a manager of MfE's Resource Management Comprehensive Review team.

I have had a lead role in these projects:• Comprehensive review of the Resource Management Act• Researching, drafting, consulting and finalising the first set of National Planning Standards• MfE's input to policy to establish Kainga Ora Homes and Communities, and its planning powersOther significant roles include:• Submission analysis and advice for the Resource Legislation Amendment Bill 2017• Relationship manager for the Taranaki councils on MfE's programmes• MfE perspective and connections for other projects such as burial and cremation law changes, freedom camping bylaws review, local government wellbeing Cabinet paper, Kaikoura Earthquake emergency legislation• Reviews and contributions to the National Environmental Standards for: Forestry, and Telecommunications Facilities• Advice on national direction for: quality urban intensification, water programme of action, three watersI have held various acting manager roles for three-day to three-week periods for resource management teams in the Ministry, and also assessed CVs, sorted and interviewed for three sets of analyst hires, and two intern hires.

My main role at TCDC was as part of the district plan team. As a senior member of that team, we:* Reviewed the Operative District Plan* Drafted and consulted widely on a Draft District Plan* Released a Proposed District Plan, analysed submissions and prepared hearing reports* Assisted with hearing panel decisions and released the Decisions Version of the district plan.I also provided occasional input to other council processes, including bylaw reviews and resource consent processing.

I taught English as a second language to children, teenagers, adults and businesspeople, at all levels: beginner, intermediate, advanced. As well as working at the private language institute Mundo Bilingue, I taught a few private students.

While in Alberta Canada on a working holiday visa, I worked for Scheffer Andrew - a land use planning and engineering consultancy. My projects included:* Industrial & residential area structure plans and outline plans* Municipal development plans, land use bylaws* Urban development and subdivision applications

I was the planner for the Rotorua Lakes Protection and Restoration Programme. This included:* Developing lake-specific action plans with the community and stakeholders* Preparing changes to the Regional Water and Land Plan* Leading community education projects* Working with Te Arawa Lakes Trust and Rotorua District Council, and engaging with specific lakeside hapū, in co-management of the lakesI also led a small side project on control of vehicles on Bay of Plenty beaches.
